Guidelines for BehaviorGuidelines for behavior have been established by Canter’s Cave 4-H Camp to provide a safe environment for each camper, and to protect the buildings, grounds, and equipment at Canter’s Cave 4-H Camp. Each camper is expected to follow these guidelines. General Polices
1. Possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages or illegal substances by anyone is prohibited. Any medication required by campers must be checked – in to the camp Health Care Person. 2. Use of tobacco products is prohibited. 3. Possession of or use of the following, except under instructor supervision during an organized camp activity is prohibited: firearms, ammunition, knives, and hatchets. Any shooting equipment brought to camp must be signed in to the camp armory upon arrival (only campers enrolled in levels greater than basic disciplines may bring personal firearms to camp). Campers may have access to their firearms while under instructor supervision during organized shooting activities. 4. No fireworks, ammunition or explosives of any kind are to be brought to camp. 5. Pets are not allowed. 6. Any acts of vandalism or damage to camp property will be immediately reported to the Executive Director. Campers will be held financially responsible for the destruction of property or damage done to the grounds or natural environment caused by deliberate carelessness or destructive effort. No material posted by Canter’s Cave 4-H Camp is to be removed, mutilated, or altered in any manner. 7. Boys are not permitted to enter the girl’s lodging areas and/or restrooms. Girls are not permitted to enter the boy’s lodging areas and/or restrooms. 8. Campers are not permitted to enter staff lodging facilities or other restricted areas. 9. Swimming in the lake or creek (Salt Lick Creek) is not allowed. 10. Campers are not permitted to leave camp property unless advanced arrangements are made with the Camp Director. 11. Campers may not bring a car to camp unless prior arrangements are made with the Executive Director. Keys to camper’s vehicles will be collected and held by the camp Executive Director. During camp, vehicles will remain off-limits. Vehicles must be parked in designated areas. 12. Areas that are off-limits to campers unless accompanied by a staff member include the High Ropes Course, Shooting Sports, Lake, and Swimming Pool areas, and all Hiking Trails. 13. Horseplay, excessive teasing, and hazing are not allowed. 14. Shoes must be worn at all times, except inside the swimming pool area or in the shower. 15. Campers are expected to participate in all scheduled camp activities, including all meals. (“Be where you are supposed to be, when you are supposed to be there.”) As a general rule, sleeping cabins will remain off-limits to campers between breakfast and bedtime, except for scheduled or announced times to allow campers to change clothes or to rest. Campers may not enter the sleeping cabin areas unless an adult staff member is present. 16. Respect for all people and all things will be shown at all times. 17. Campers will be responsible for maintaining camp facilities and personal belongings in a safe, orderly fashion. [Top of Page] |
